Using Alternative Therapies

We live in an age where more information is available than ever before, and it’s coming at us 2 4/7 from a dozen different directions. But trying to decipher whether the information is good or bogus is difficult, to say the least.

Nowhere is separating good info from bad more confusing than in the world of alternative therapies. If you believe half of what you read on the Internet, we’ve already cured Alzheimer’s Disease. (But if that were really true, don’t you think the mainstream press would have reported that breaking news by now?)

On the other hand, don’t assume that just because a treatment isn’t “mainstream medicine” it has no therapeutic value. Large doses of vitamin E used to be considered an alternative treatment for AD; now that its therapeutic value has been shown in a series of scientific studies, the therapy has entered the medical mainstream.
